Stefanos Tsitsipas and Casper Ruud to Face Off in Barcelona Open Final

A week after Stefanos Tsitsipas’ triumph at the Monte Carlo Masters, the Greek world number seven will take on Norway’s Casper Ruud in the final of the Barcelona Open. Tsitsipas overcame Serbia’s Dusan Lajovic in a hard-fought three-set match, winning 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. Meanwhile, Ruud, the world number six, edged past Argentina’s Tomas Etcheverry in a tight encounter, triumphing 7-6(8-6), 6-4.

“The Barcelona final will be a rematch of the Monte Carlo championship match, where Tsitsipas emerged victorious.”

Ruud, who has reached three finals this year, will be eager to claim his first title of the season and avenge his recent defeat against the Greek star.

Elsewhere, American Taylor Fritz and Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff will battle it out for the BMW Open title in Munich. Third seed Fritz secured a comfortable 6-3, 6-4 win over Chile’s Cristian Garin, while home favorite Struff, the fourth seed, cruised past Denmark’s Holger Rune with a dominant 6-2, 6-0 victory.
